Pretty good about hiring people who meet the requirements. The process that actually takes long is setting up a training session and getting enough confirmations to actually have the training session. If your wpm is 65+, you should be hired no problem. If you think it's been a while since you've heard back and think your app might have fell through the cracks, then e-mail them again and probe them. We're planning on having a training session this Saturday, but not finalized yet, but we are definitely hiring a lot for the summer.
thanks! i got an email about 20 minutes after I posted this. ^_^
I emailed them for an application earlier today...haven't heard back yet. I'm wondering because I did it from my (full time job) email, how long does that normally take? Sometimes things get filtered out of my other email, so I don't know if I should try again from my personal address.
i got a response to my initial inquiry in about 2 hours, but i'd guess it depends on how busy the place is? and my email looked like a generic copy and paste from elsewhere
Hi, I'm also interested in applying. I did a little Googling but couldn't really find a website for the company... does one exist or should I call?
About 6 months ago a friend of mine was hired there and went in for training. The owner (who didn't own it when I worked there but is the one who trolls the internet for incorrect name usage) was really open with him about how the working area is under video surveillance, which ok fine, but then he went on to say something like "Ya, I can see it from home, and I like watching some people more than others" in that 'male bonding' fashion. *shivers* I was super stoked I didn't work there when it was being monitored on video from the dude's house. My friend didn't go back.
Do you know what e-mail to send your typing rate and other info to? I called them and asked the guy on the phone, and he told me email@example.com but I must have heard him incorrectly because that email doesn't exist.
Ah, I did hear him incorrectly.
Is that Itachi and Sasuke, and if so, can I gank? I'll credit~
Go for it. But credit didgey
, not me. She's the one who made it (and told me she'd still like to be credited even though her journal is deleted).
haha. just started a few months ago. just send a friendly reminder if you don't hear back from douglas within a week or so, really good about getting back with you.
The company has had two names, University Transcription Services, and now Gainesville Student Business Services. The name was changed in January this year due to a change in ownership. CT has always simply been a customer of these companies, and never an employer, hence the confusion. Using the CT name to infer that they are an employer in Gainesville is incorrect. The fact that they are our customer is the reason I try to dissuade people from using the CT name. Hiring is done on an as needed basis, and historically the pace of hiring is busiest at the end of Spring and Fall terms. You may email me directly if you need clarification on anything to do with the company, and I ask that the CT name be removed from this post as it is being used incorrectly. firstname.lastname@example.org
I think it's really disappointed that you actually gave into his request to take Copy Talk wording off this comment list as it was 'used incorrectly'. Since it was called that when I worked there or at least commonly referred to as that name in lj, at the place of work etc, it is not a misuse of the word. It just is upsetting that we're not free to use the name we knew, especially since we're not referring to them now being referred to by that name, we're talking about what it was referred to back when we worked there and when we made a post and were corrected. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Current and past employees have mentioned getting an email along these same lines and mentioned feeling uncomfortable about it. I personally didn't refer to the business as CT but this post was mentioned at orientation... seems like this is a major and reoccurring issue, and just as I wouldn't post incriminating photos on Facebook for employers to see, I'm just going to go with it.
